1. Features
Wool fabric is woven from animal fibers. The main raw materials are sheep hair, mohair, cashmere, rabbit hair, camel hair, alpaca hair, yak hair and so on. The wool fabric is usually represented by W in the fabric composition.
Advantages: good heat preservation and elasticity, good moisture absorption, not easy to dissipate heat, not easy to wrinkle, good shape retention, full hand feeling, subtle and natural gloss, generally darker and more subtle, and feel solemn and generous.
2. Types and applications
(1) Woollen fabric
Woolen warp and weft yarns are carded wool yarns made from shorter wool. The surface of the fabric is plush, plump and thick, and has good warmth retention.
Varieties include Melton, navy, overcoat, woolen overcoat, cashmere, camel hair, etc., which can be used in coats and outerwear.
(2) Worsted woolen fabric
Combed wool yarn is spun from long fibers through a combing process. Worsted woolen fabric is cool and smooth, with firmness, sweat absorption and good air permeability, light weight and fine structure, good resilience and durability.
